Reactor platform to go deeper into aviation

By Andriy Yeroshevych

Scaling up the content

Working for about eight months with the CFM-56 engine we’ve learned many of its components, maintenance operations, and standard procedures. It took several weeks to make the system scalable following the request to add V2500 engine together with all its components and related workflows.

Overhauling UI

Last few months we’ve been constantly adding and testing new features and workflows:

  1. Gearbox callouts & descriptions, disassembling guidance

2. Oil tank flow visualisation

3. Airflow animation

Time for major redesign has come. We untangled many workflows and introduced a straightforward navigation system. Encountering problems with internet connection more and more often we created 100% off-line mode of Reactor equivalent to the one with WiFi.

New UI also effortlessly scalable — any new workflow already has its dedicated spot place as well as all related routines and procedures.

Backend improvements

Successfully added PDF parsing and integration. Most of manuals and documents exist in PDF format and enabling this source is a significant improvement. We have also integrated PPT (MS PowerPoint) format which turns out is used in some factories.

These updates are expected to simplify further integration with client knowledge databases.
