Conquering the island

In early June Spiral team has won Lufthansa Technik (LHT) startup challenge organised right at the heart of one of the MRO facilities. Following the jury decision, we were awarded the pilot project to implement our solution at the same facility. Both teams are looking forward to scaling the technology for the wider network in the future.

Meetings in the desert

Right after the team kicked-off two other projects with the UAE based clients visiting the facilities, collecting the data and preparing the delivery roadmap. The first prototypes are expected in late August while the full completion is set for the year-end.

We have also agreed to sign memorandums of understanding with two universities providing aviation engineering courses in the UAE. The details will follow closer to the start of the academic semester in September however even now we see massive potential in collaboration with the educational institutions given their wealth of industry-specific knowledge and availability of student crowd keen to try anything technological and new.

MRO Middle East

January 10th 2019permalink

From February 10-12, the Spiral.Technology booth will be presented at the MRO Middle East 2019.

Middle East MRO has been held annually in Dubai since 2016, namely at the Dubai World Trade Center and was the leading platform in the region to attract customers, study competitors, and discuss problems in the area of commercial aircraft servicing. The organizers claim that MRO Middle East is an ideal place to search for both suppliers of equipment and solutions, clients and partners for companies from the aviation industry. At the moment, the number of participants in the MRO Middle East 2019 has reached 129, and in 2018 178 exhibitors were represented at the exhibition.

The main participants of the exhibition are suppliers of equipment and technological solutions for servicing commercial aircraft. From year to year, such aviation industry giants as Boeing, Bombardier, Etihad and Lufthansa present their stands at the MRO Middle East. Platinum sponsors of the event are HEICO Corporation, Satair and StandardAero, and Aviation Week is the main media partner of the exhibition.

ARC Advisory Group released their forecast for 2019, where they assumed what the main technological trends would be this year. And according to the ARC forecast, one of the main trends of the year will be the augmented reality, namely: the increasing use of AR technologies in equipment maintenance, information transfer between staff and training new employees. So, as companies that already use AR, have significantly improved the process of personnel training, reduced equipment downtime and the risk of errors. Interest in technologies of augmented reality will only grow throughout the year - which is good news.
